I was pleasantly surprised by the historically interesting character of the current wikipedia article on the 747.  There are many photos and charts, clickable for a higher-resolution version.

Phil,
I am currently hyperlinking to Wikipedia articles heavily from the BA Virtual wiki that I am helping to develop. On the whole, they are a very good source of aviation-related topics, and I don't even need to update them myself. Just rely on 'the world' to do so.
