Time-lapse movie of space shuttle final taxi through Los Angeles

I thought it was amazing to see the transit wheeled assemblies used to move the space shuttle through the streets of Los Angeles.  It's mind-boggling as to the detailed planning that must have been required to ensure a safe passage through this diverse neighborhood to the museum where it will be displayed.

My understanding is that its special-purpose undercarriage is remotely controlled, with considerable freedom for the individual groups of wheels.
