UPDATE:
I have tested with java 8U151 and the serial interface now works, using AdaptPSX Beta 2.7

V1.2.2 does not like the serial connection. When I enable it and click start it simply tries to connect then stops.

Cheers,

Sorry to reactivate this John,
But I am trying to get my Aerosoft MCP working through AdaptPSX. I have tried numerous versions of AdaptPSX but as soon as I enable the serial port and click start AdaptPSX shuts down and does not connect.

I have sent you some error logs to your gmail account so I hope they can point to something helpful.

I will continue to try with backwards version of Java and see if it works with any of them.
Cheers,
AlexB

Looks like AdaptPSX may not "like" newer prolific drivers.
I can get MCP747.exe to test the unit, but as soon as I setup and enable the serial port under AdaptPSX, it shuts down when Start is clicked. I do have error logs, but have unable to contact John regarding ADaptPSX...

Cheers,

Hi Garry,
I am hoping you may still have the files regarding the serial interface of the Aerosoft MCP.
I can talk to it with MCP747.exe, but Adapt PSX does not want to connect for some reason.

I was investigating why Simbrief is throwing back all the time "PAYLOAD/CARGO LIMITED BY MZFW".

I captured the API call from your site to Simbrief and I think the culprit might be that you are instructing the Simbrief that weights are in kilograms (Units=KGS), yet API call sends some weights in lb. At least I think that OEW of 373.575 is in lb?
I also see that Boeing gives 361,600 lbs (164,020 kg) for OEW, and 53,985 Gal (204,350 l) as max fuel which should be about 164059 kg of Jet fuel, while API is sending 380 600 litres (not kg) as max fuel. https://www.boeing.com/content/dam/boeing/boeingdotcom/company/about_bca/startup/pdf/freighters/747-400f.pdf

I can see that each API call has different cargo weight, so your site is correctly sending random cargo, but seems kg vs lbs is throwing Simbrief off.

This is for Cargolux 747F.

Attached are two API calls (I removed API key, etc.)

Hello Nico
I am building a standby IAS indicator, which need to read the IAS data. And I just search all the variants that PSXseecon provides. I can't find one match the IAS data, except a Qi131 name "Ias". But it is just a IAS data at first connection. It won't change during the flight. I think the data from Qs483 name " MiscFltData" is the one I need. Would you please add this variable? That would be wonderful if I could drive my Standby IAS Ind with SIOC and PSXseecon~!
:P. Thank you very much.

Regards
Jack

Accessories / Another StreamDeck profile
Last post by Will - Sun, 19 May 2024 17:37
Here's another StreamDeck profile, just to put some other ideas out there.

A couple of points... first, I've got a good mix of peripheral controllers, so I wasn't trying to put every possible command on the StreamDeck, just some things that keep me from having to reach for the mouse or the keyboard at busy times. Also, I have everything mainly on one page(*), because flipping through various pages is a little bit of extra work that sometimes makes things seem a bit busy.

The white/green buttons on the upper left are for controlling the views (layouts). The two green ones (HOME and HAND FLYING) are the ones I use for most things. The center column in this section (OVHD, HOME, CNTR PDSTL) are top-to-bottom from the overhead, to the captain's view, to the center aisle pedestal.

The nine blue buttons in the upper right are for MCP controls, and I think are self-explanatory. I put them top-to-bottom in order of how frequently I use them, heading controls on top.

The "Boeing brown" buttons and the green A/P button are MCP switches.

For future expansion, if someone ends up making an app that lets the StreamDeck send Qvars into PSX, then I would add a button for entering/leaving the runway that does things like packs, landing lights, strobes, and TCAS. I still have to the the mouse for those at the moment.

Profile: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/23wha0br86q36p331c1zu/PSX-WJC.streamDeckProfile?rlkey=2v6eez3hmaqkk0yjdzghziax5&st=x1grxgsb&dl=0

*) "EICAS PLUS" and "EFIS" open new pages with additional controls, but either I use these rarely, or else I find it easier just to use the mouse for these, so the these two StreamDeck pages pretty much go unused.
