hello

In the British airways config sarah when appraoching MDA will say 50 above but i would i get the decide sound file to lay at decide without using DH.  I have created a sound file which as both 50 above and decide init with about 3-4 sec gap but ps only play 4 sec of the file:( how can i get it to play longer.
The 50 above in triggered at 100 above is there a way to change this to 50 feet.

Thanks

Hello,

the sound file size is probably too big. It must not exceed the sound memory indicated on the CDU on the blue SIMU page. You could try to compress the file a bit more, e.g. by reducing the sample rate.

The 50 above DH is triggered at 100 above DH?

Hi

Say I set my MDA to 280 in ba configuration the first officer (Sarah)should say "fifty above" at 320 feet then "decide" at 280 but 50 above wav is triggered at 380 not 320 is there a way to change this.

I can't remember. The 100 feet difference is probably fixed in the PS1 code, unless there's an option in the CFX file.

Edit: Just checked. There's only a "plus hundred" option.

GPWS_BankAngle=Y
GPWS_PositiveWindshear=N
GPWS_AltAdv_2500=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_1000=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_500=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_400=N
GPWS_AltAdv_300=N
GPWS_AltAdv_200=N
GPWS_AltAdv_100=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_60=N
GPWS_AltAdv_50=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_40=N
GPWS_AltAdv_30=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_20=Y
GPWS_AltAdv_10=Y
GPWS_PlusHundred=N
GPWS_Minimums=N
GPWS_FlareTones=N

GPWS_PlusHundred refers to the MDA bug +100. GPWS_Minimums refers to DH bug +0. Sarah says 50, but PS1 cheats a little bit and triggers the sound file always at +100 to avoid yet another option. Most other airlines seem to use the words "Plus Hundred".

With the sound file unable to play sounds at full lengh i played around abit.

Blue page in ps1
sound mem 59632
free mem     69920
wav file size is     93.5 KB (95,832 bytes)

in winps1 sound mem is 0 with 105872 free mem which plays the whole sound file so how would i make ps1.3 using doxbox use the same as winps1.

Can somebody who knows explain to me how to increase memory for the sound file please i in installed vdmsound in increased to about 65 from 59 and it's early there but where would i need to go to add memory?

Since increasing memory is a problem, why don't you
try Hardy's suggestion of reducing the file size
of your audio?

That would be simplest, in my opinion.

There are so many free programmes that will do this for you.

Hope it works out.

Try Audacity for sound editing. I use it quite a lot to add new sounds to PS1.
