I guess most have moved away from P3D

I must be one of the few remaining users of P3D as there seems to be little new software being produced for it.
I am just wondering if anyone has any basic code for a PSX to P3D bridge that I can use as a basis for a P3D V6 bridge?
I know JP produced the original that I liked, but I think I would like to try and add more functionality (eg integrate with GSX2, activesky, etc).

I'm still with you...p3Dv4 would you believe?

Rock solid & great frame rates ... I only add the scenery I'm flying from/to including TO/ARR ALTNs & enroute ALTS.

Yes sadly it's a platform long forgotten by scenery devs.

Yes I'll move to another scenery generator platform one day, but I'm a great believer in the adage "if it ain't broken ..."

Definitely! I think that it should not be too hard to adapt an older FSX bridge as they both use simconnect....

Ah well. May have to move to x-plane 12 (although GSX does not work with it.)

From a stability point of view (and portability in the case of X-Plane) I get it, but scenery devs definitely have moved on. A lot of them made money by porting stuff to MSFS; I see little being released for XP12 (and for high prices, presumably due to the low volume of sales) and none for P3D.

Sincere question, why hold on to P3D that hard when the visuals aren't great and no scenery is developed for it?

I was an MSFS sceptic too, I bought 2020 after three years and a few months back I moved to 2024. The visuals of 2024 can't be beat. All this while I prefer to run stuff on Linux as much as possible...  ;)

P.s. I have been using X-Plane since version 9, moved to P3D for the QOTS II for a few years before I discovered PSX.

Hi Alex,
I'm still with you by using p3d4 (I got an old computer) also if I use more Xplane11 and 12 nowadays (and xplane 11 as scenery generator for psx).

Good to know some people are still P3D oriented. I guess some of us will stick with the more stable version that does not require a lot of internet activity to provide scenery...
I just like the flight dynamics as it (and X-plane) seem to be more accurate.

Oh, I still have all the different simulators installed on my PC. Somehow it's difficult to deinstall stuff that brought great pleasure over the years. I found P3D to be very stable in combination with the PMDG planes.

No doubts about the flight model indeed, but for PSX visuals it is a bit less important.

I like the P3D visuals as I have all the old Orbx sceneries (shame they no longer support V6, as do most developers).
I converted a lot of sat imagery to X-plane 11 and it looks and performs better than MSFS, but does not allow me to use my P3D airports, so ground imagery is a bit lacking.
Have not found a reason for going back to MSFS yet (even though I have an XBOX  ::) )

Orbx for sure has made some great sceneries back in the day. Greatly enjoyed my True Earth scenery on XP11 and the goodies for P3D. Too bad it's only a marketplace nowadays, kind of.

Yeah I guess its easier to sell someone else's work than spend the time developing your own.
