Hi all,

I have a new Mac Mini M4 running Sequoia 15.6.

Could someone please tell me what version of Java is likely to work and send a link if possible.

I downloaded the latest MACos ARM64 but it fails to load PSX.

Any help would be appreciate.

ps.
This is my 1st MAC, so Im a noob to apple. Always been windows in the past.

Thanks In advance.

Hi,

you need to install the x86_64 (Intel, not ARM) version of Java version 8 from Oracle.

https://www.java.com/en/download/

When you're on that Oracle page, don't click the ARM link; look further down and find the link x86_64 version of the JRE.

Background:
Although the M4 in the Mac Mini is indeed an ARM-based chip, Apple ships the "Rosetta" translation layer as part of the OS, and this automagically kicks in when you run any Intel-based application. You happen to need the x86_64 version of the Java Runtime Environment because the ARM version does not (yet?) support audio in the way PSX needs it.
