I just bought a new LG 34in monitor and the screen resolution is 3440 x 1440. When I load up the sim I get a lot of back boxes on the screen. I tried all the resolutions on the layout page but still get all the black boxes, any way to fix this issue?

It's a guess but we have seen similar things before.

Make 100% sure that your display frame (the largest PSX rectangle) is not exceeding the display borders. Best is to initially make it windowed and keep space around it at all sides, using the mouse. This should work.

Only then carefully increase the size. Do Not Use The Full Size Button. Windows will not properly tell this to PSX and the results are unpredictable.

Once you found a working rectangle size, you can manually edit the 9pack file to lock them in.

Black boxes or brown areas?

Brown areas are the background of the PSX canvas.

Black boxes may be memory leaks in the graphics hardware.

The boxes are black, how do I check if there is a memory leak?

What I did was just click and drag the screens till I started to see the black boxes and stopped. I now have some room to play with. This is my first new monitor in years.

Do you use other applications while PSX is running?

Does your new hardware need any special drivers?

jeffreymg

I have no other apps running and the monitor is a plug & play. The sim runs great.
