Cross the Pond - Vatsim event on Saturday from 10am CET

Just wondering if any other PSX'ers are joining the event on Saturday. I will be flying GTI74L from ESSA to KORD.

It is fun. Just make sure you have a plenty of time to conduct all departure checks and flows! :-)
I did not get to select my slot as I was on a business trip. By the time I had an opportunity to select - any trip - all were taken.

Ohh - my unstructured approach to everything hits again - never secured any spot will probably join the party from and to a non-event departure and destination not to disturb...

it happens to the best of us. I would suggest to fly in a completely different region and either land in the even airspace, but not the same airport or just fly through the airspace. Or just fly in a different region altogether.

It is too hectic.

If Kurt would not join the tracks but stay just South of it, would that be just outside the panic zone but still close enough to be more interesting than flying alone?

For a less mainstream VATSIM Saturday: the "Escape from Surat" leg of the Simfest event celebrating the 1972 Concorde World Tour.

VASU - VTBS, departing 1430z. There will be PSX.

The last time I jumped out a plane was from the back of a C130 at 500 feet (agl) at night with 40 pounds of parachute and 80 pounds of field gear.  This was back in 1969 before going on my first tour in Vietnam.  Swore I'd never do it again.  ROFL

Ahh that must have been a scary experience - that must have been a round parachute :O Nowadays the gear is so highly engineered and reliable - I have almost 2000 jumps over the last 25 years and never had to use my reserve

We are actually 3 skydivers in the picture- one with a deployed parachute and two in wingsuits docking in a formation.

It is me in the red Wingsuit and it is my wife taking the picture ( framegrab from a GoPro)

All my jumps were static line using the T-10.  My biggest worry at nigh was being dropped or blown into the wrong place and ending up in water.  Not a lot of future in that.  ROFL

here we go - managed to resample to 500 pixels with



The guy in the parachute has allmost 20 kgs of lead attached in a belt to be able to fly so fast that we in the wingsuits can fly in and hold hands

You can actually upload it twice, once at 500 and once much bigger, if you make the small one appear here and at the same time it's a link to the bigger one. My upload site can do up to about 1 MB officially but in practice up to about 5.

Yeah it is quite an amazing experience - we have a fast C208 Caravan that takes 18 jumpers to approx 15.000 feet in 15 mins and we pull our parachutes around 4000 feet ish which gives us about 3-4 minutes racing around in our suits depending on how much we turn and play
