PSX with MSFS 2020 and Beyond ATC

Hello, to operate ATC and traffic I'm using PSX with Gary's bridge software to MSFS 2020 and Beyond ATC in combination as follows:

Filing a Simbrief flightplan and export to PSX and MSFS, starting MSFS and locate AC at a gate and then start BATC and using it for traffic and dispatch releases, all with the B747 dummmy from the WASM bridge. This is working fine so far.

Then starting PSX and locate the AC with the PSX position tab to the gate used in MSFS before, not using GateFinder since the results at addon sceneries are not sufficient, then connecting PSX and MSFS with the server/client software and try to finadjust the gate position with the PSX position map and the CTRL/mouse - this is working too.

Thenafter initializing PSX completely with flightplan, load and FMC and so on until pushback and engine start. With MSFS BATC I'm able to get clearance for pushback and engine start, lot's of AC around me from BATC injection. After engine start got taxi clearance also via BATC under consideration of visible traffic at the airport. Then I've been handed over to tower for takeoff clearance wich is working too.

So far so good...

After takeoff the connection to BATC is disturbed and died completely, no connection to ATC possible, a restart of BATC causing it to quiet with a failure message. I have set all COM panels for the frequencies at PSX but no luck to get connected to any ATC station, the demand indication at BATC is flickering...

Has anybody an idea, how to use PSX/MSFS2020/BATC also during flight and not only until takeoff or did I miss something in this flow?

What I else have to say, unfortunately there is no TCAS indication for BATC injected traffic at all in PSX, but I'm understanding there is no traffic transferred from MSFS towards PSX via the WASM bridge.

Best regards
Ralf

Hi Ralf,

me to, is using the same constellation. At the early beginning, I had some BATC crashes, but never had your issues.

Have you tried, to start BATC as Administrator? This is suggested at BATCs Discord very often.

Regarding to the order of starting up all progs and your flight, I do it the following way (same in my full size sim w. networked PCs, as well as on my single PC test-rig)

1 starting MSFS (set to live weather)
2 starting PSX in the meantine MSFS is loading
here is a difference to your setup: I have .situ files for all my airport positions.
LOWW D29.situ - cold and dark at LOWW Gate D29
LPMA A13.situ - same for Madeira
   etc. ...
so I can start at the exact position, each time each airport - not messing around with positions any more ...
3 when MSFS reaches the hangar menue, I load a generic .FLT, placing my acft at LOWW and click yellow FLY button
4 while MSFS loads the .FLT / scenery, I start up Garys router / client software
5 as soon as MSFS is ready, I click the yellow Ready To Fly button - eventually my acft is proper placed at my departure airport gate
6 starting BATC with predefined SimBrief plan

I never load any SimBrief into MSFS, I never readjust any position after loading the respective .situ file.

MSFS, PSX and SimBrief are all using same AIRAC !

Then I power on my acft, get ATIS, and start flight with BATC from Clearance, GND, TWR, all Center, dest. ATIS, APP, TWR and GND at destination airport w/o any crash in between.

I cannot see any "mistake" in your procedure ... when BATC gets silenced, than perhaps you have wrong frequencies tuned in. But when it really crashes, you should post the BATC Player.log file at their Discord. Btw: what does the BATC failure message say?

If you assume, that your BATC installation is broken, simply download and reinstall it again. This is not a huge task, and perhaps solves your troubles. Good luck!

Hi Hans, thank you for your detailed advise - in short I have set BATC to admin rights and did not load an MSFS flightplan, now it is working well, I can hear ATC and communicate, been happy and thank you again.

BTW, how did you handle the missing BATC intruder at PSX TCAS, at the moment here PSX TCAS is set to low conflict  random loop under the PSX Traffic tab but it's a strange solution.

Best regards Ralf

Hi Ralf,

excellent, great to hear!

Tbh: I do not care about TCAS at the moment. BATC does not have enroute separation built in yet. So, some user of MSFS acft are reporting 2 - 3 TCAS alerts / advisories a flight.
