I found a dutch voicepack for PS1 on Archive.org. Would it be possible to run the mod on PSX or are they simply incompatible? I think it'd be awesome to have a Dutch accent in the EH areas, would really add to the experience ;D

I think they were created by Ton van Bochove who's still active here on the forum. You would need a permission from him:

As far as I recall, those old sound files are compatible with the new ones. But maybe some outdated call signs are omitted now and some file names need to be renamed.

Great, is there a PM function on this forum?

In the meantime, I got the file to work. Only the airlines seem to be mixed-up, i.e. Lufthansa will get you KLM. Is there some sort of logic behind this (say: if you want Air Canada, select an airline 3 places up/down the list).

And the speeds are given in an interesting format: speed 220, 1-0 knots. Or is this a valid ATC format, like the: descend and maintain 1-2, twelve thousand

Just check the default PSX wav files. Then you will see which file name will play which sound fragment. If the old files play something different, their sound content need to be edited and the files renamed.

Some spoken words and numbers are recorded in two different files; one with a lower pitch and one with a higher pitch. That adds more random melody to the sentences, so that it sound less artificial.

Is there some sort of numbering convention, files in the hundreds ending with 3's are low pitch...?

Hardy Heinlin

I think the order doesn't matter; it's random anyway. The important thing is that the pitches are different. E.g. 0003.wav is low "three", 0013.wav is high "three". Or vice versa.

Long time ago....I recorded files for an ATC simulator but I can't recall if I used them for PSX (sorry... 25-30 years ago) Can you sent me the archive link (744nutxgmail.com) I will probably recognize my voice if the files are mine
