If you want to use any of the two other versions, you'll need to rename that WASM folder to match the standard name.. or overwrite the contents in the WASM standard folder with the version you intend to use.

Joerg,

Thank you for the tip. The folder into community folder is always PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM_V20, but unfortunately it only works as the standard version. In fact, MSFS2024 only displays the content of the standard version even if this folder content is either of the other two variants: BrighterLights or OverrrideDefaults.

Javier,

I just compared Standard vs BrightLight on my system. The Light differs - temperature & intensity -  between both versions. This might be rather subtle, depending on your point of view, day/night etc.. So if it's the same light for you, some other thing has happened at your end.

Concerning the OverrideDefaults WASM: This is meant to be used with Asobos 747-8. Some users asked for this to have a VC visible on the MSFS screen. To use this, you install the WASM module the same way as you do with the other two, BUT in MSFS you don't select the PSX Model, but the Asobo 747-8 instead.

Joerg

So it is now mandatory to disable time sync with MSFS if running online weather.  Whether thats setting the router to not set time all the time, or the client.

Where do I find "time sync"?

in your documents folder psx.net, edit in notepad and you can change the settings

Bode,

In the folder John described above there are two files. These need to be edited in Notepad and have their settings for time sync adjusted like so:

PSX.NET.MSFS.Client.xml:

<DisableTimeSync>true</DisableTimeSync>
PSX.NET.MSFS.Router.xml:

<AlwaysSyncTime>false</AlwaysSyncTime>
You need to make sure you don't touch the stuff between < and > to keep the file valid.

Little shout out to Gary, could the variable names be synced up sometime to avoid confusion (and coincidentally satisfy my OCD)? ;)

So.... They actually both serve different purposes....

You can leave time sync enabled on the client and then set the router to false.

You can then do a one off time sync by pressing the captions glare shield clock button 3 times to sync psx time to MSFS once and then it doesn't break the weather.

I use this in the sim quite a lot to sync a daylight time then go to utc in psx.

What is the "captions glare shield clock button"?  Is this one of the buttons located on the clock or the button situated above the panel light switches?

My apologies for being a little slow on these terms.

I don't know but I guess it's the captain's clock button which starts, stops and resets the chronograph :-) After 3 presses the needle is back on 12.
