No airports outside of USA?

Hi All,
I suspect that I have corrupted the airport database, as PSX no longer recognises airfields outside of the USA.
This is likely to have happened while updating to the current AIRAC with 'navburo'. I used the FAA master database, which it seems only has data on US airfields.  :(
Is there a default global airport database that I can download?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

the default database is in your PSX.

Solution:

• Open Navburo
• In Step 1, in the drop-down menu, select your FAA database that you already made, then click Reload
• In Step 6, deselect "Block all fillings". (It is important to allow fillings from the default database; they fill the rest of the world outside the USA and Pacific with data from the default database. So do not block these fillings.)
• Click Autostart

Thank you, Hardy, I'll do that.  :)

Thanks Hardy, it is OK now.  :D

Hi Hardy,
I have recently installed FAA NAV database in my custom folder with Navburo. It is the only one in this folder. When I select the FAA database in the instructor page, I have problems with some airports (Canada and South America). Airport respective SIDs/STARs/APPs are properly listed in the FMC. But when loaded, most waypoints are missing with lots of route discontinuities. I tried CYUL, MMMX, SKRG and SKBO. Everything becomes normal when I select the default database in the instructor page.
Another thing strange: SKBO SID ABL 3K with default database becomes ABL 2K with FAA database.
I did exactly what you wrote on your post above, but nothing changes.
Same problem wih my laptop.

Hi, the FAA database just contains USA & Pacific. If you want Navburo to keep the rest of the world from the PSX default database, you need to deselect the checkbox "Block all fillings" in step 6.

Cbf

Hardy, that's what I did this morning but no change.

Hardy Heinlin

Sorry, without data I can't help. I'm hearing of such a problem the first time.

Is anything in "-Custom/Misc/navErrors.txt"?

Cbf

Only "[Aerowinx Navburo - Exceptions]" and then blank in that file.

Hardy Heinlin

Does your FAA master file include airports and procedures outside the USA & Pacific area?

Cbf

When I use the FAA database, I have the same problem in some US airports.

Hardy Heinlin

Are you sure you downloaded the latest FAA database and not an FAA database from the distant past?

Cbf

I installed 2503 cycle. I will install latest ASAP.

Cbf

Same with 2507 cycle.

Below an example with RNV 19 transition SKIDD at KSZL.

Hardy Heinlin

What cycle is your default database from Navblue?

Cbf

It's 2105.
I have created a new navigation folder with FAA 2507 as default database. There is no custom database.
It is still the same.

Hardy Heinlin

Well, you shouldn't do that. You destroyed the system.

Cbf

I have a back up of the folder.
