Until we have a new Manual with the newest Keystroke additions, and for those who may fly PSX on a MBA with a compressed keyboard... please feel free to use as a reference, and add if you have other helpful tips.

C

TOGA : ALT+F (Mac: option+F)
Reload Layouts: F12

Further key related updates:

172.02. Key combination CTRL+B added which pulls the parking brake lever and pushes the brake pedals promptly all at once.

168.03. Shortcuts added for keyboards without a numeric pad: CTRL+ALT+1 (upper "1" key) selects layout 1. Similarly CTRL+ALT+2 for layout 2, and so on. As usual, F12 reloads saved layout settings from file. CTL+OPT+1 works on a compressed keyboard Mac.

168.02. Shortcut added for keyboards without a page-up key: CTRL+ALT+X pushes the autothrottle disconnect switch on the thrust levers.

168.01. Shortcuts added for direct gear up and down commands: CTRL+ALT+D moves the lever to the DN position, CTRL+ALT+U moves it to the UP position (or to OFF when locked on ground).

For TRIM keystrokes, you can disable the Ctrl + Up/Down Arrow commands by going to Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts... -> Mission Control and disable "Mission Control - ^'arrow up'" and "Application windows - ^'arrow down'".

Hardy-

Would there be a chance you would consider adding a keystroke for Alt INTV?

INTV? What's that?

Edit:

You don't mean any ALT+INTV key combination but the MCP mode ALT HOLD or ALT SEL? There are already keys for that.

Cltr+D = ALT SEL
Ctrl+F8 = ALT HOLD

If your Mac uses the F8 key, go to the Mac's System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Keyboard and deselect the checkbox "Move focus to status menus ^F8".

After a frustrating episode with Big Sur on my MBP- I am back to Mojave- and despite using the tip above CANNOT get the Elevator Trim to work with Ctl+Up/Down.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to re-enable this?  Presently, the Ctl+Up/Down just moves the Control Column.

Thanks!

You may want to check Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Mission Control

Default may be this:

[x] "Mission Control" : CTRL + ArrowUp
[x] "Application windows" : CTRL + ArrowDn

Just deselect these checkboxes.

I did and still all that occurs is that the Control Column moves.... not sure what's going on... Mojave 10.14.6

Are you sure you're holding the CTRL key and not ALT or Option oder Shift or fn or something?

cavaricooper

Yes Sir.

Is there an alternate way? Somewhere to click (on the Elevator Trim Indicator, etc?

Do you have a mouse with a scroll wheel? That can be used for trim as well. Joystick buttons can be used also.

You can click the ALTN STAB trim switches behind the flap 30 notch.

I just tested this (I have a hardwired 60% keyboard and not a Mac keyboard). I need to operate the trim switches a couple of times, but once the trim is responsive, Ctrl+Up arrow/Dn arrow works as expected with the elevator trim.

Note that I did disable most keyboard shortcuts. I'm just looking now to see whether any were Ctrl+Up/Dn.

I have these disabled, so this might fix your problem @cavaricooper.

Will try the mouse wheel technique. Does it need to be selected or is it default Hardy?
Dest the cursor need to be over the trim indicator?

I do have the Ctl+ Up/Down de-selected @United744, but thanks for the assist.

The yoke and stab trim screen areas are illustrated in the Aerowinx manual, page 22.

Hardy-

As usual, your thinking ahead and allowing for alternate methodologies has saved the day- again.  Thanks!
