Instructor Chime sound

Hi,

As soon as I release the brakes and start taxi, soon after I hear a sound which is the instructor chime wav file. Why is it triggered? I see no call lights, cannot retrieve any messages or see any MSG lights, announcements or what so ever. Also the instructor Human panel did not reveal to me what may be set wrong.

Any hints would be very helpful.

Hi,

this chime is not meant to occur on the flight deck; it's for the guy on the ground that receives ACARS messages from the pilots. The chime will sound whenever a new message appears on the Dispatcher page or CPDLC page.

If you are not the guy that plays the role of the dispatcher or CPDLC controller, you should disable that chime. You will find the respective checkboxes at the bottom on Instructor > Preferences > Audio.

When you start taxi, the on-board systems send the first OOOI message to the dispatch office via ACARS.
