APPROACH REF Line IL

Hello,

On the page APPROACH REF, under normal conditions, line 1L displays the FMC-calculated gross weight. It can be replaced by a pilot-entered weight, to examine Vref under various weight scenarios.

Assume a pilot enters a value in 1L (but does not further configure anything for landing). It was my understanding that selecting a different page in the FMC and then returning to APPROACH REF will replace the pilot-entered value with the FMC-calculated value.

I'm not seeing that... I entered a weight in 1L, and when I leave the APPROACH REF page and come back to it, my pilot-entered value is still there, frozen in place.

Am I not understanding this correctly? Anything special need to be done to return line 1L to the FMC calculated value?
