'NG FMC and more" not recognized

 I have just purchased the 'NG FMC and more" update for my PSX and put the downloaded zip file into the extra directory folder but when I start the simulator it is not recognized. I have 10.172 installed. In the Instructor the 'NG FMC installed' check is grey/greened out. Also in the About tab I have 'Extra licenses installed' as None which is also greyed out. Could you please help a rather confused 81yo?

There should be no zip file in Extra. The correct file Name is

NextGenFmc.license

This is what I did as per the manual 'Download the file NextGenFmc.license from your retailer's online shop.
Do not unzip the file'. seeing I did not unzip it that is what I did. The file is called NextGenFmc.license.
Seeing I did not unzip it I call it a zip file

I reinstalled from the original PSX DVD then installed the latest update 10.172.
Maybe that was wrong or something?

Yes I did. Installed PSX, started and stopped it then installed the latest update started/stopped it then put the NextGenFmc.license into the extras folder.

The file is 284kb. I downloaded it again because I thought the file may have been corrupt. So I have only one download left.

Please test this: Double-click AerowinxStart.jar in your Aerowinx folder.

Hi,

as the file is from an external download: perhaps you need to allow your system to access the file!

Right click it and select properties. Check the first tab if you see a little checkbox - like on my (german) screenshot.



Tick the box, restart PSX, and recheck if working!

Yes I have but it is cdu1c without the dash. I put the dash in but still no good.

In NextGenFmc.license properties it says Opens with Windows Explorer it that OK?
