Servus Hans,

Thank you very much.

I am intrigued to please learn specifically on how you would set these pushback points.
What I particularly like is ability to define a specific "Clear to start your Engines" point. Well done Sir!

Example: KMIA Stand W72, push via S onto T abeam Eastern Cargo Ramp facing West

Mark

Lieber Mark,
hi guys,

speziell für unseren lieben Nachbarn! (especially for our dear neighbor!) 8)

Here is another video with a brief overview of my pushback tool. Behind the scenes - so to say.

We are at KMIA W72 ... more in the video!

As said, feel free to ask!

A small observation: the pushback route format in the GSX airport profiles provided by the GSX community (usually available on flightsim.to) seems easy to parse. Not sure if the format is documented, but there is a GSX airport editor that generates these files, so a short test drive of that editor will probably lead to an understanding of how the config file works.

Example (EKCH):

[gate b 9]
nopassengerstairs = 0
nopassengerbus = 1
...
pushback = 3
pushbackaddpos = []
pushbacklabels = P Face South - Primary|X Face West - Alternate
radiusleft = 23.0
radiusright = 18.4
...
this_parking_pos = 55.6264790057221 12.6455898235655 -78.6168908691409
pushback_pos = 55.626447551914 12.6452251450927 48.3831091308591
...
pushbackrightpos = 55.62711755 12.64731186 -78.61689087
pushbackrightapproachpos = 55.62642272 12.64608487 281.3834475
pushbackrightapproachpos2 = 55.62656206 12.64669921 -168.6370743
pushbackrightapproachpos3 = 55.62689782 12.64681992 -168.6124637
pushbackrightapproachpos4 = 55.62712689 12.64722939 -78.61689087
...
pushbacktype = 0

Lieber Hans,

Top! Danke sehr.

Minute 1:13 the left yellow box with the values....
"55; 3; 0; ..." so: this means that if you would change the value 3 to i.e. 5 the "Start your Engines" would be changed to the 5th line - correct?

Wünsche Dir noch einen sehr schönen Abend und nochmals vielen herzlichen Dank.
(Wish you a nice remainder of the evening and thank you again wholeheartedly)

Cheers macroflight --- so the exact positions could be extracted on a per gate/stand position then copied/utilized to insert into the program.

Mark, you're welcome!

Correct. Changing 3 to 5 would fire the command as soon as the plane reaches coordinate no 5.

Have a great evening as well!

Hi

As I do not own GSX I can't check that out. But the config file looks not too complicated. Lat / lon are the coordinate points in my tool. And the turn radius, push, pull etc. is that, what I enter in the right yellow box.

My KMIA example looks that way:

55;3;0;en;2;TT
0.45015392934082288;-1.40159851598195730
0.45009276987412189;-1.40159687241471760
0.45009433218667777;-1.40155934980499520
0.45008153314809590;-1.40151960916661560
0.45008240461468652;-1.40150002842459510

[RAW_Data]
55;3;0;en;2;TT
Qs122=1;0;0;5462;0;0;0;0;0.4501616512993027;-1.4016077607957707;0
Qs122=1;0;0;5460;0;0;0;0;0.4501539293408229;-1.4015985159819573;0
Qs122=1;0;0;6236;0;0;0;0;0.4500927698741219;-1.4015968724147176;0
Qs122=1;0;0;4671;0;0;0;0;0.45009433218667777;-1.4015593498049952;0
Qs122=1;0;0;4671;0;0;0;0;0.4500815331480959;-1.4015196091666156;0
Qs122=1;0;0;4664;0;0;0;0;0.4500824046146865;-1.401500028424595;0

T, TT, TTT means how tight the curve should be, and 55 is the distance +/- how early the plane should start turning.

I'm *very* sure that all this could be made simpler and more precise, but unfortunately I'm not a math genius!

Regards
Hans

Lieber Hans,

Dare I ask .... any possibility to please try your pushback tool in my PSX? Looked at your Facebook page just now ... left a message.

Hi,

there is way more behind the scenes as I could show in the two short videos.

I'm a BeyondATC (BATC) user, and my tool checks the Player.log for the push clearance (facing S, W etc.). Without this information, it won't work.

When I do not fly with BATC, I use a CDU menue, to select the correct PushBack config file. This (grown over the time) is another networked tool. My Maintenance-CDU-Sub-System. And this is tailored especially for my sim. If missing, PushBack won't work either.

Additional to that, some documentation needs to be done, otherwise the user won't understand how to deal with all the settings and coordinate files.

So, that's the reason why it is not that easy to share the tool. Not because I do not want to share.

I thougt about a "public" version some time ago, but real life and lack of time always dominates my sim-life.

Perhaps I will have enough spare time at the end of the year, to rework the calculation module, and compile a public version. But I cannot promise anything.

Regards
Hans

Hi Seb,

absolutely! It seems, at the time being, there are three or four of us interested in.

Perhaps I feel more motivated to start coding, when I see a real benefit in our community.  ;)

That said, in order not to raise false expectations, it will only run on the WIN platform.
