Peculiar thing is that when I have the Navigraph charts on my PSX computer open, I see the position of the MSFS AC on my PSX computer, so there is a connection.

Unfortunately that does not mean that the two PC's can talk to each other, because Navigraph works a bit different, and does not use a direct connection between both of your PC's. Instead, Simlink - which you're running o your MSFS PC - sends the AC position data via Internet to a Navigraph server. The chart app then fetches that data from that Navigraph server, and not directly from your MSFS PC.

From what you've written, and providing the IP-Adress you put in the Client config is correct, the PSX.NET.WASM part should be fine .. nothing more to do there.
So it's probably the Windows Networking which you should focus on. Are you able to share files/directories between both PCs?

I do not really know what caused it. In MSFS I was in showcase view, repositioning the acft via PSX. Back in MSFS I recognized, that I could not change the viewing angle with keyboard.

After clicking "Continue", it worked as when nothing happened.

Gary, thanks so much for this! I have no clue how to use MSFS but even so, once the downloads were finished, I had everything up and running in less than 5 minutes. Superb contribution to the community.

As I may have said, I've been skeptical about external views, but this worked really well right off the bat, so much so that there's a risk I may end up losing my skepticism and embracing the pretty pictures.

I think I see two very large items on my to-do list:

1. Think long and hard about optimal PSX/MSFS layouts.
2. Learn how to configure MSFS... it keep showing me "areas of interest" and unwanted communications from ATC and my virtual first officer, and the magnification is absurd (looks like an ultra wide-angle lens, almost fish eye). Hopefully all of that won't take too long to fix.

Question:
On my VATSIM flights, I can not see a traffic on PSX. How could I enable it? Also, my PSX.NET.MSFS.CLIENT shows SimObject Link Disabled. Is this the issue? If so, how can I enable it?

There is a vpilot plug-in available on this forum we wrote which you put into the vpilot plug-ins folder to inject TCAS traffic from VATSIM.

SimobjectLink is for people who have multiple PCs running MSFS to keep the traffic in sync between them, so in yours and probably everyone else on the forums case is fine.

Just completed an 11 hour flight (KSUU-PGUA) on Vatsim using version 10 with NO issues.

No real issue but it looks as if the speed at which gear and flap animations are running varies with different MSFS VSYNC/fps settings.
I have MSFS by default configured for VSYNC at 50% monitor refresh rate, which gives me 30fps, and found the gear to extend / retract far too slow. When I changed VSYNC to 100% monitor refresh rate (60fps) the animation speeded up as well, and seemed to have a realistic timing.

This is MSFS2020 where I switch at about 200 agl.



I zoom out the max. on MSFS2020 and adjust the PSX outside view to match.

That is correct Chris, at about 200 feet, sometimes higher, I switch to a full outside view of MSFS.  By 1000 agl I've switched to manual throttle and 500 agl the a/p is disconnected.  Since the PSX and MSFS are fairly close in size the transition is painless (kinda).

A simple How To create WASM liveries

1. Copy an existing WASM aircraft texture folder (of same passenger/freighter/engine variant) in the MSFS community folder ..\Community\PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM_V10\SimObjects\Airplanes\PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM and rename to something like texture.NewRego

2. Replace the .dds file within this new folder with a dds of desired new livery. The file name must be renamed to be identical to the original and potentially DDS image flipped (vertically) to match the original format (use Filestar or similar application)

3. Edit thumbnail images in the folder with new logo/text using Paintd3D or similar application (not required as the aircraft rego will be listed in the MSFS liveries menu list by default)

4. Edit aircraft.cfg in the main PSX.NET.WASM folder by copying a new [FLTSIM.xx] entry (by copying a similar passenger/freighter/engine variant)  texture = "NewRego" or whatever your new texture folder is called.  Ensure model= refers to the correct passenger/freighter/engine model.variant in the PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM directory

5. Rebuild the layout.json file in the PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM_V10 folder by dragging this file over MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe

6. Make a backup of the entire PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM_V10 directory in case you ever need to re-install & recreate your work
