Another pushback problem

Hello,

I'm incredibly enjoying PSX, to a degree I started getting really annoyed by MSFS
The thing I'm struggling with at the moment is pushback, for some reason the dialog does not start.

Hints highly appreciated, I'm pretty sure I just didn't spot the obvious 10 times in a row

I have no problems with pushback with your situation file.
To start it you need to hold the R/T / INT switch (Audio Control Panel) at INT for 2 seconds (simulating talking with ground crew). Did you do that?

You also set your right ACP MIC at CAB which does the annoying ton. You don't have to do that (this is for talking with cabin crew).

100%, no reaction. Just loaded the situation again and tried several times to be sure.

A low tire pressure isn't necessarily a malfunction. A blown tire, yes. But things that slowly reduce over time (engine oil!) need to be kept up, not repaired.

In this case, enough tires with low pressure increase the static friction so much that the poor tug has insufficient traction to get the Queen moving.

Your situ works for me. Load it and do this:

1. Right "FLT" transmitter selector -- press (to stop the dial tone)
  - White MIC light over "CAB" extinguishes
  - While MIC light over "FLT" illuminates
  - Dial tone ends
2. Left or Right Push-to-Talk switch on audio control panel -- move to "INT", hold for 2.5 seconds, release
  - There is a 4-second delay
  - "Steering pin inserted, release brakes please" plays, pushback simulation begins

If that doesn't work for you, then I'd explore other options as has been suggested, including add-ons that impact airspeed, etc.

Also, when the situ starts, can you hear the dial tone? If not, then check your computer's master volume.

Also, Item #1 above isn't necessary but otherwise the dial tone is distracting.

Good to know, definitely will pay much more attention to many more details. It's a motivating learning curve after spending time on a more "convenient" gamelike approach during the past few years

This should be exactly where I have to investigate. I just tested my own .situ on a different PC without any USB peripherals connected/configured and pushback just works as expected.
That puts me in a situation where I can narrow down the real culprit I guess.
Running PSX without any additional tools didn't help as well, so I'm suspecting the throttle/speedbrake pots to be the root cause.

Also, when the situ starts, can you hear the dial tone? If not, then check your computer's master volume.

You also need to check that your parking brake remains set. Perhaps the inputs from your USB or keyboard release the parking brake at some point?

Well, you need to hear the audio that is controlled on your ACP. Otherwise, you will miss the instruction from the tug driver; he will instruct you to release the parking brake. The towing will only begin when the brakes are released.

I didn't have the headsets active but never realised because I still am busy with all the other things happening. Purchased this phantastic sim just ten days ago, but thanks to the documentation and all helpful people here on the forum I could successfully complete my very first VATSIM flight with the PSX from RJTT to RJCC, already using FiFLy and PSX.NET.
