MSFS with PSX

Hi all,

I am wondering if it may have been considered to attempt to incorporate PSX in to a MSFS 3D model rather than using WideFS. Fenixisim.com seems to have secured a licensing agreement with PRO-SIM AR A320 to this effect. I don't know how that agreement works, the product is not even released at this stage but it looks very promising.

I say this as someone who has no idea how difficult this may be but as someone who has come back to simming partly because VR is now a thing that is awesome and it has been very useful to me during the pandemic. MSFS under Asobo has a lot of issues but it's got an enormous community that is providing a lot of well received feedback and it looks to be maturing at a rapid pace.

Some context to why I ask this:

I used PSX to get me through a sim ride for a major international airline some 16 years ago and I nailed it largely because I already knew what to expect because the modelling in PSX is awesome and sufficiently similar to the FFS that I had to fly in raw data. So thanks HH, I'm eternally grateful. I bought the original and the upgrade for what it's worth.

Perhaps ironically, I now fly Airbus and during COVID have used a well known P3D Airbus add on to maintain a degree of practical albeit, non recognised recency. Frankly it's been invaluable for getting my head back in the game with SA, raw data flying and non normal management. I only use it in VR with a HOTAS, mouse and rudder that gives me a sufficiently realistic experience to keep feeling on top of my game despite having been stood down now for a total of ten months....so far.

While there is no longer a prospect of me using the 744 professionally, I would still love to get back in but I just can't go back from VR now that I have seen the light with my Reverb G2. And I'm wondering if it's possible.

I have no idea what market testing might show up for you Hardy but there would appear to be an enormous interest in what the amateur community sees as a "study level" aircraft and yet I suspect that most of them have no idea what PSX has to offer.

Hi,

as far as I know, the Pro Sim products are not stand-alone sims; they are MSFS add-ons. I think it's relatively easy to turn an MSFS add-on into a default component of MSFS.

PSX is a stand-alone sim and has no connection to MSFS. I will not rewrite PSX and downgrade it for MSFS.

PSX runs great alongside MSFS. I personally use X-Plane on the same computer, so PSX overlays X-Plane and I get the best of both.

I see no point at all of integrating the two. It might be novel for 5 minutes, but you soon get used to the way PSX works, and it is massively more flexible, too.

I use WidePSX to fly in MSFS, looks fantastic.
