What's happening with Atlas' never-ending hydraulic-failing tire-blowing emeregency landings?!

Casper! Is N404KZ the only white aircraft that Atlas has? If so, I see it coming into Chicago pretty frequently. It was just here a week ago.

Had the exact same scenario happened to us (but with a CF6-80C2A5F on A306) a couple of years ago over ICAO:OIBB on our way to ICAO:OEJN. Did the same thing (FCOM 2.05.90 p2), had the same root cause: Oil had pooled up in the exhaust area.

Quote• Monitor the affected engine oil parameters and crosscheck with the other engine. As long as the oil temperature and the oil pressure of the affected engine remain within limits, normal engine operation is not affected.

• If the oil quantity continues to decrease, the following ECAM alert can be triggered :
-ENG 1(2) OIL LO PR (Refer to FCOM 2.05.90 p 2).

QRH 13.15

Quote• Only if the low OIL QTY is associated with a fluctuating or decreasing OIL PRESS, a precautionary engine shutdown may be considered.

FCOM 2.05.90 p 2

Quote• IF OIL PRESS BELOW 10 PSI:
THROTTLE ...... IDLE
FUEL LEVER .... OFF

PROC : SINGLE ENG OPERATIONS (12.08) ... APPLY

QRH 12.12 "ENG OIL LO PR"

Accident: Lufthansa B748 over Atlantic on Nov 11th 2024, turbulence causes 11 injuries

Will

There are times in turbulence when I think of a wing bouncing in turbulence with 25,000 lbs of engines attached to it, and I wonder what it would take for it to snap off. Then I remember that the airplane as a whole (fuselage and both wings) is experiencing the shear at basically the same time, and so there really isn't a wing-fuselage moment that's likely to lead to separation. Of course, that's cold comfort to the 11 people who were injured by the bumps.

But the fuselage has a greater inertia than the wing tips :-) The lighter parts accelerate faster.

Did you forgot to close the avionics bay hatch properly? [duck]  ;D

Must have been pretty heavy rain for it to find its way into the avionics bay.
"Electrical failures resulted from water having leaked onto the aircraft's avionic equipment – the effects of which included all pitot probe heaters becoming inoperative, and the cabin altitude increasing
