Hi Jack,

nice pictures. Congratulations.

Would Qs562 help you? See:

Thank you, Hardy. That's a great idea. Until I figure out how to interface the QNH bug, matching the standby altimeter to the captain's PFD seems like a solid approach.

However, once I've completed the interface, I might need the actual standby altimeter data. Could you advise on which variable I should use for that?

Regards
Jack

Hardy Heinlin

You need the altitude at an output rate of 10 Hz, correct? For this purpose I guess I'll have to implement another special demand Q var for you :-)

Oh. Yes. I do need. That would be wonderful. Thank you Hardy.

Now available in PSX update 10.176:

At 20 Hz, by the way. 10 Hz was too low. The ALT needle moves faster than the IAS needle.

Thank you Hardy !!! Appreciate your help!
Will give report once I finish interfacing.

With my friend's help on the arinc interface, IT DOSE WORK! And SMOOTHLY!Will attach a video later. And I hope to know how the form of the data, so that I could set the standby altimeter QNH. And I even want it equals the Cap. QNH. Is that possible?

Nico
I would like to ask for an update to the PsxSeecon for this variable. No hurry. Just make it once you have time. Thank you. 🙏🏻

Thank you Hardy and Nico. I and my lovely simulator appreciate your help.

You should not change the altitude value that you receive. It already includes all pilot settings, errors and malfunctions.

If you want to change the standby baro reference, you just need to set that baro knob on the standby altimeter which is this one:

Qi38="StbyBaro"; Mode=ECON; Min=74500; Max=110025;

The value is hPA x 100. E.g. if you want to set 1013.25 hPa, send 101325 into the network. The knob will rotate to that value and the altitude needle will move accordingly.

Thank you Hardy. I attached the video of how the standby altimeter works. It looks amazing. But I still have a issue of changing the data of Qi38. I use PsxSeecon to adjust it. But it seems it's be read-only. And PsxSeecon doesn't have a variable for the Cp or Fo PFD baro data. So that the only way I could make it works is to use the " performs silent tasks"

Hi Jack, just to be sure regarding the left PFD's baro setting: You know Qs562? You mean it's just not in PsxSeecon yet?

Hi Nico
Thank you so much for the update. I will try on next Monday!!! And will report asap.

Hi Hardy

Yes, Because the only I/O hardware and software I know is the SIOC and the OpenCockpit card. 🫡

Appreciate your help, Hardy and Nico.

I am in the process of getting Arduinos to "talk" to SIOC as IP clients. Then I can use the arduino to provide dual encoder data to SIOC. I also am designing a mux unit to allow 48 analog inputs to replicate the ACP volume controls and the HS Sens pots on the RCP's. OC cards are very limited on Analog inputs, so I will keep them for throttles, yolks and rudders...

Hi Alex, noting you use an OC/SIOC interface, and as a thank you for your assistance while I was investigating using SIOC.

I have 2 x OC EFIS units with all their internal electronics.....no front panels. If these are any use to you for your project, I will send them to you. I don't want money for them but they may be too useful to someone else to discard. I used the front panels and switches doing my EFIS/MCP build.

Cheers, J.G.

Always happy to take donations I can salvage and re-use.

I am building my own panels to interface with SIOC via master cards, but happy to see what I can get out of units that are sometimes in need of a new home...

:)
