XView and PSX Wx
« on: Tue, 2 Mar 2021 07:42 »
Hi,

I've noticed that when climbing with low-level clouds, at some point the clouds are seemingly "unloaded" and the sky cleared?

Is this a PSX function or some oddity in XView/X-Plane?

When below about 15000 ft, the clouds stay, and the aircraft flies through them without interruption, but once at cruise altitude, they all but disappear, leaving perfectly clear sky and no undercast??

Is XView dead as an add-on? i.e. no active development?

Seems I found a bug - it is treating reported ceilings as AMSL and not AGL.

Unfortunately XView is no longer being developed.
Pity, as this was a great little app.....
