Hi all,

some of you may still use the Aerowinx.DE domain to access the web pages here. Please edit your bookmarks and replace the suffix DE with COM.

Also, the HTTP link prefix here will soon change to HTTPS. In case your old bookmarks cannot access the Aerowinx web pages in the next days, please edit them and change the prefix HTTP to HTTPS.

Thank you!

Tomorrow on Wednesday or Thursday ...

http://aerowinx.com will change to ...
https://aerowinx.com

HTTPS already works, at least over here, so I believe that starting to adjust your bookmarks would be ok.

The account images are not stored locally on the Aerowinx web site but remain where the original poster made them available. This means that these images are not covered by the security certificate of the Aerowinx web site, and web browsers will flag the Forum pages as "partially secure." This should not be a problem.

HTTPS now works here too if I add WWW.

Without WWW it doesn't work yet.

If I put in the www then the format is wrong in Vivaldi. Without the www the https is working with the correct format.

In Toronto Canada I don't seem to require WWW, the https seems to work just fine.

You can have it automatically switch from http to https if a user requests the http version using the .htaccess file:
Strict-Transport-Security

Having the htaccess file include something like like:
Header set Strict-Transport-Security "max-age=2592000" env=HTTPS
Header set Content-Security-Policy: "upgrade-insecure-requests;"

These should keep it all working.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it when I'm sure the https works everywhere.

Hi Hardy,

In both MS Edge and Chrome (they're pretty much the same thing underneath)

https://www.aerowinx.com/   works ok
https://aerowinx.com/   works ok

https://www.aerowinx.com/board/   opens the forum as a text-only page (no font or background formatting)
https://aerowinx.com/board/   works ok

Conclusion: using https:// and omitting www works in all cases

Regards, Steve.

In Austria https without "www".

Vivaldi is based on Chrome without actually being Chrome... it was developed by the same guy as Opera.
I think it is the Chrome underlying code that causes the https://www to fail and show as txt.....

Will see if I can find out more.....

Al good here too ( PT ).

I believe the final version will make the loadbalancer in front of the Aerowinx site automatically revert all connections to HTTPS ?

In Spain https works fine, without "www".

All HTTP links on Aerowinx are now redirected to HTTPS.

Forum users should access the board without the WWW prefix. If you use the WWW prefix, the board layout won't appear correctly.

Please just use https://aerowinx.com/board

Hoppie, this thread contains an SSL warning because your avatar isn't HTTPS :-)
You could actually change it to HTTPS in your forum profile as your hoppie.nl already provides SSL.

Cheers,

Meh, I misunderstood what the warning meant -- I thought it meant that not all content was certified under the same certificate. Another thing learned today.   :-)

While we're at it ...

Since www.simulatorsolutions.com.au has HTTPS, Rod's avatar image URL could be changed to HTTPS as well :-)
