Merging PSX with a VC

Hi,

Just a thought.
PMDG and other add on developers seems to build their aircraft outside the sim - systems, flight dynamics etc - and integrate it into a 3d environment in the sim. (correct me if im wrong).

With that in mind, how difficult would it be for some whizz developer to merge PSX with a 3D model within the new microsoft flight sim, say the default 747 (I know its a -8), so the VC ran PSX. Displays, switches etc all modelled. Sorry if this isn't too clear, im no developer. Basically what im trying to say is would it ever be possible to have a VC PSX?
