Outboard engines about 10 degrees warmer?

Pardon me if this is something basic that's been discussed multiple times before...

I've noticed that the EGT of the outboard engines runs routinely about 10 degrees higher than the inboard engines, whether in-flight or on the ground with the parking brake set. Any idea why?

In real life and in the model, EGTs and many other parameters are never exactly equal. Each engine has its individual character. The differences between the engines were randomly set at the birth of PSX. I know your next question: "Can these random differences be re-randomized?" No. These settings consist of many fine-tuned values and affect thousands of lines of code which would have to be retested.

I understand that the values aren't equal.

I just found in interesting that outboard > inboard on the temps, consistently, and I was wondering if there was some design or aerodynamic principle behind this.

But it sounds like it's just a result of the original randomization.

Sure, you understand :-) -- especially you as a former airline captain.

I just forgot to start my sentence with my traditional "As you know" phrase :-)
