I give in - I've got to ask...

It's not quite sunset yet, is it?

Hardy Heinlin

My circadian rhythm doesn't care about astronomy :-)

Britjet

i suppose the lid keeps the sunlight out?

Hardy Heinlin

Yes. The lid, and the pillow.

Not to forget the curtain, and the jalousie.

And the window being on the north side.

But the lid is actually sufficient. I think it's made of duck foot leather.

Britjet

This is turning into quite a thread!
No mirrors, then?

Gary Oliver

Amazing what you learn on this forum....

I just learn what a jalousie is !

Heck, you're right. In fact there's a large mirror on the other wall opposite to the window wall and reflects the daylight. Luckily, my duck feather duvet on my bed is high enough to mask the light beam from the mirror.

(Just joking; I never use duvets. It's almost 30°C here. But the rest is true.)

Just in case it got lost on page 1 of this fast running thread, here's my main answer to Roger's main question:

Don't be so hard on him - I only just got it!

Martin Baker

Something to do with a "drake cooler", m'llard? Sorry, that's a bit of a lame one...

Britjet

Roger (aka Donald)..
After your DUC fiasco - why am I not surprised? :-)
There's actually no such word as "gullible" in the dictionary anyway..
Peter

Will

"Jalousie" (a.k.a. jealosy) was new to me as well.

Very close to the Portuguese "gelosia", pronnounced mostly the same way, and it's origin in the Italian...

Have I mentioned already that I always cook with garlic?

P.S.: "Lid" ... I interpreted that as "eyelid". -- No, I don't sleep in coffins. I don't even take coffein. Just cocoa and milk. Cheers. And garlic. But not in the milk.

Hardy Heinlin

Coffein at 9 pm? Do you always drink coffee before entering the darkroom?

Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers

The room with the sign Coffeen Corner?

ScudRunner

Coffee after 9pm is leaving it a bit latte.

Despite all the puns, admirable thought they have bean, I still think this thread has only one star-Buck Rogers in the 25th century...
