... when I disconnect the A/T during flight, the throttles aren't matched to the real PSX throttles and engines.

This is normal; you can quickly synchronize the hardware levers with the PSX levers by moving the hardware levers to the max and min limits, then back to the desired position.

The easiest method, however, is to hit the A/T disconnect switch a third time.

1st click : Disconnects the A/T
2nd click: Resets the alert
3rd click: Sets the PSX levers to the hardware lever positions (sim feature)

#21
But now when I click three times, I am getting random reverse. I have it set up so that #2 reverse controls all four. When I reverse now, sometimes I get #4 and sometimes #3. I'm not sure why. I don't understand how I could get reverse on those engines when #2 is set to active all four and I get no reverse on #2.

Here's one I just did where I got reverse on 1, 3 and 4 when #2 is set to control all reversers.

Woooowwww! Jon, that setup look GREAT!

Sorry for the OT, but couldn't resist :-)

And, when you find the time, please report back on your P3D experiences ;-) and give a chance to XP11 too, using the demo version - yet it's going to take a bit to D/L.

All the Best, enjoy - you have two wonderful supports at home, at least 2 - PSX NG and that setup.

The A/T disconnect function has no link to the reverse function.
The random problem you are seeing is just that: random.

I guess you need to calibrate your levers carefully, so that they really go to idle. Remember, there is noise and vibrations in your hardware pots.

Thanks, Hardy. I'll have to experiment with that one. The Throttletek looks awesome until you get down to the build quality and support. I think others here have experienced similar problems with the reversers.

Hardy Heinlin

In your speedbrake calibration you reduced the full deflection reference point to a value below 1000, so that the outer extremes are in a safe range (in case the pot range is smaller). For each reverser lever you need to do the same, so that the max and min extremes are in a safe tolerance zone. The linearity can be fine-tuned as well by adjusting the center reference point for each lever. If all is thoroughly set, you can assign 4 individual reversers instead of one master lever for all.

Thanks. That's what I'm trying to do. Is there a maximum N1 prior to going into reverse that would prevent it from deploying? Let's say the N1 was 27%.

Hardy Heinlin

Ignore the thrust data. On the 744, the reverser lever lock depends on the mechanical forward thrust lever angle sensed by the EEC. You need to look at the mechanical thrust levers on the PSX deck; compare their positions with your hardware positions. Be sure that each PSX lever reaches its extremes when your related hardware lever reaches, say, 99% of its extreme. E.g. if your lever produces noise in the range between 1000 and 921, set the calibration value to circa 900 -- same for the other end: If you have noise between -1000 and -893, set set the calibration value for that end to circa -800.

Good idea. I'll pull the PSX virtual levers up on the center pedestal and try to calibrate visually. Thanks.

Thanks, Jose. Following my defeat by the previous overhead from Jack, which was FedExed across the pond and is now part of Peter's sim, I bought a 48" touchscreen. I'm pretty happy with it so far. As for the P3D, I had my brother download it to a flash drive using his cable (my DSL was incredibly slow) and I installed it on my computer. I installed and printed out the instructions for P3D ExternalSim but haven't focused on configuring it for PSX.

What seems simple and intuitive for you guys with computer skills is not so easy for me.
