I know this is a touchy subject... I would like to get my hands on a set of 744 manuals from a European Operator, also would be great to get a set for the RB211 engine.

In return I have a full set of 744 manuals (current) for the 747-437.

Precision manuals (PMDG) just started selling a manual set for the 744, although not a cheap set of book. 300$ plus shipping....

There was a discussion on another thread about the introduction of manuals for the 737NG, but the 744 was added to the list the other day.

jet pubs if yiu can prove need  will require some hoop jumping but they do full set for type rating
