Hi,

I'm looking for a laptop to use when away from home. The new macbook air has the following specs:

1.6GHz Dual-Core Processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
128GB Storage
Touch ID
Retina display with True Tone
1.6GHz dual-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
128GB SSD storageĀ¹
Intel UHD Graphics 617
Touch ID
Force Touch trackpad
Two Thunderbolt 3 ports

Is anyone using this laptop and if so what is the performance like? I'll be using it natively without external scenery gens. Will being a dual core be an issue?

Thanks,

T

@Toga-

I ran stand alone PSX without any performance issue on an 11" MBA 5 years ago.  They are MUCH more powerful now.  The ONLY caveat being the small screen's resolution resulting in clipping of the Instructor Tab.  If you go with the 13" you should have no problems.

This perhaps is one of Hardy's greatest accomplishments.  You can "feel" the weight of 397T on an 11" MBA or in a full blown full motion cockpit.  This is the only aeroplane software that accomplishes this.  I have even started a flight in one place, saved and emailed myself a SITU and finished it in another.

Enjoy your portable PSX!
