Thanks to Brian Cowell for his help and maintaining the MCP "heritage" and the everlasting support of Andrew Mclean of Aerosoft Australia I have my MCP/EICAS/EFIS after 17 years working again. For owners of the MCP please write down your serial number of the device because without the SN you cannot do a firmware update if needed. And when you delete the firmware completely - like I did - without the SN you have a problem. I got some files from Andrew to give the MCP a hardware reset and I sent them to Brian.
After the MCP came alive I was prepared for a difficult AdeptPSX connection but it went really easy....thanks John Golin!

Great news! Glad Adapt helped you out!

I actually have an updated version of Adapt I've been waiting for someone with a working MCP to verify...

If you are happy to test for me shoot me a message at john@simulatorsolutions.com.au

:)

(When implementing the interface Andrew was very responsive and helpful providing the API information to allow me to interface with the MCP - much appreciated.)

Cheers!

John Golin.

Hi John!

Looks like I have to dig out my MCP / EFIS / EICAS from my basement... I didn't re-plug it after I moved into a new "non invaded by my flight deck" place... I still have AdaptPSx vB8.0 that used to work fully fine (on a Mac), I remember...

I recently acquired the Aerosoft MCP/EICAS/EFIS units and, rather to my surprise, they work pretty much plug and play via AdaptPSX - well, almost...

Everything on the MCP works, but there's no response from the bolt-on EICAS and EFIS, probably because I've connected them incorrectly to the MCP. Can anyone help me with this?

I have 2 ribbon cables with 25-pin connectors on each end, one longer, one shorter. Which of the sockets should they plug into? (There's nothing about this in the PDF manuals I have.)

Many thanks,

Martin

Update - the EFIS is now working, plugged into Expansion Port 1, but the EICAS, plugged into Expansion Port 2, isn't. I wonder if the EICAS needs to plug into the EFIS, but the supplied cables aren't long enough...

Pure guesswork.

I guess you have this configuration:

EFIS-MCP-EICAS-nothing

The original full stack has:

EFIS-MCP-EICAS-EFIS

and it may be that this setup will give you the correct cable lengths... but for the F/O.

Haha - absolutely correct guess - I'll reconfigure the hardware - thank you!

Does anyone have a user manual for the efis unit? Trying to find out if there is a way to get the ctr button to work.
Cheers
