How is this done? I sometimes see youtube video's of PSX Layouts where the scenery is the upper part.

That is a simple display of a scenery generator (P3D, Xplane, ...) on top of PSX.

Hi Ton,

I use PSX across three screens (P1 PFD/ND, Standby Insts and Upper EICAS and one placed lower for Lower Eicas and FMC), with a self-built hardware overhead. This runs on my PSX PC.

I connect to Xplane 11 via xView for the outside view, also on 3 screens (placed next to each other). This runs on a second PC which I call, amazingly, my Xplane PC.

I would thoroughly recommend getting hold of a second PC if you can - PSX will run on a low-end machine very well - I have had a single screen running on an old Windows XP machine quite happily with a low-end video card. You could pick one up very cheaply (In fact a large portion of my rig is from 'trash nothing' and 'freegle' and so cost me nothing other than collection).

If your main PC is capable of running FSX, P3D or Xplane at reasonable framerates you could have a pretty good rig with such a setup, with minimal outlay.

Just my three ha'p'orth :-)

Cheers,

Roger.
