Xpilot and XView

Hi,
connection is established but the frequencies are not showing/switching in Xpilot. No transmission from PSX to Xpilot.
I have no idea how to get it working..
Please help ! :-)

Further on:
The frq´s in Xpilot are just not to see, Text messages are working. But, I can´t bring Voice to work...
IN XP11 alone voice works well

Next step:
I tried to use the default 747-400 by Laminar, and the Comm´s are working if the avionics in XP11 are on.
But the ATC doesn´t see any data, FL, Speed:

ULLL_CTR: never seen anything like that before
[13:22:14] ULLL_CTR: you are still at 000 altitude shows me climbing
[13:22:18] ULLL_CTR: and speed 001 kts

I guess there are several things to do until WF2019...

Hi Steffen,

just tried on my setup with PSX, XP11, Xsquawkbox v1.3.3 and AFV v1.6.30 and it seems to work. I get a Vatsim connection, Xsquawkbox connect to the network (when not connection limited) and AFV reads the comm frequencies from XP11 and they agree with PSX.

That is with PSX on one computer and XP11 and Xsquawkbox + AFV on the other one.

Will possibly try Xpilot later on...

Hi Markus,
when I try to connect via XSB and AFV client I get a connect error : Connect Faild Forbidden message in AFV client.
So no succes on this way...
Yes, I checked all CID´s and passworts several times...

Lets wait and see.

Hi Steffen,

just installed xPilot and it works right out of box. It accepts the frequencies from PSX (I use the "PSX Plane" in XP11!) and works as advertised.

Maybe there is something else wrong, e.g. with Xview?

Tried the Hammerstan setup advices, same result always the message Connect faild Forbidden occurs. Used AFV and XSB..
Will try Xpilot again..

I guess it's earl;y days yet and things will get addressed as they occur.

I worked for a software house many years ago and no matter how much work they put into making it bulletproof, as soon as it touched the market the bugs started coming in!

My own issue is networking.

I can get xPilot to work great on X-plane 11. I use the PSXplane 747 (with lovely BA livery!) - but I do have to turn on the battery to get the radios to work. Tested it today - great.

Snag - my controls are attached to a second PC which runs PSX. So far I've found no way to have xPilot recognise my PTT button across the network.

I tried uninstalling it from the X-plane PC and installing xPilot on the PSX machine and specifying the network path to the X-plane main folder, but no connection.

Does anyone know who we can address issues to re. xPilot?

If you can connect to the main network but not to voice, double check the CaSe SenSitVity of your password.  Voice is case sensitive (we use a more modern method of hashing in the voice DB) and the main network isn't.

New development:
Wanted to test XPilot version 0.5. During connect to VATSIM a message (Translating from german) : Input string is wrong. Program stopps to work.

So guys,
here my report: It runs now. On my main machine there is still no chance to get AFV client to run, always the forbidden message. AFV on a remote via LAN runs well now. One condition: Batteries on in PSX plane on..
Pro: Now the noices are splitted, Engines on the main machine and ATC just on the headphones..
But the thing stays: What causes thaat AFV doesn´t run on the main machine ?

Hi all,

I've managed to get things working in the same way as Hammerstan - AFV on the PSX machine, with xSquawkbox on the visuals machine. This way I get to keep all the USB stuff plugged in to the PSX machine. Hopefully one day we'll be able to run xPilot over a network and have the AFV run as intended.

Me again,
it runs all very well related to Xpilot/AFV and so on. But ATC cant see Squawk C and the flightlevel. After several switches TCAS on and off Squawk seems to work but no FL.
On VATTASTIC there is just a dot to see..
