Hello,

having changed my visual from X Plane 11 to Prepar3d (V2), Externalsim won't work due to the P3D Version.
I am going to get V4 but for now, I tried to connect with VisualPSX.

I have set up Simconnect and WidePsx trial managed to connect to both PSX and P3D.

Entering the exact same values (127.0.0.1 with the same Ports) in Visual PSX doesn't work.
Even the connection between PSX and VisualPSX doesn't work.
the simrouter of Externalsim and the widepsx connected to PSX without any problems.

Has anyone an idea , what the problem could be (firewalls are set to off).

thank you,
Ahmed

Hello Ahmed,

I'm no add-on expert, but I can say that the PSX boost server allows just one boost client at a time. When you were comparing the two add-ons, did you disconnect the previous add-on before connecting the next add-on?

This is only required for the boost network, not for the main network which can handle multiple main clients connected to the same main server.

Hello Hardy,

thank you for your post.

There is no other connection to PSX, the boost window in psx does not show any connection during the attempted connection to visual psx

Ahmed,
What P3DV2 are you using (2.3, 2.4, 2.5, etc)?
Have you followed the manual to setup VisualPSX 7?
Make sure your Simconnect.dll is renamed from Lockheed.Martin.Simconnect.dll to just Simconnect.dll.
You also need to ensure that Simconnect.xml and Simconnect.cfg both have the correct IP address of your machine (I have found that 127.0.0.1 does not work in both these files under Windows 10) and you need to ensure your network is active (cable connected to switch).

Hi Alex,

thank you for you post.

I haven't renamed the file, I will do it later after work...
the IP adresses are 192.168.0.192 , I haven't used the standard adress for local host.

Greetings from Germany,

Ahmed,
You should update as VisualPSX had issues before V2.4...

Hello Alex,

meanwhile I switched over to P3D V4 and  installed Externalsim, which is working great.
Thank you for your help
