In all the time ive been flying PS1 on the desktop or in my sim i've never had the Lurching Richard.
OKD last year during Worldflight we were joined By a Virgin Atlantic captain who Hoppie flew with, I specifically asked him that question and he said they leave it in CLB as Hoppie says its airline specific.

Access to the FMC MAINTENANCE page is possible in PS1.3 but it's not documented in the manual.

OKD, do you have the Bulfer book by chance? Or, you may also choose another airline config file in the Preferences, but I can't remember which airlines use CLB in CRZ.

OKD wants to know how to access the FMC maintenance page and how to change the CRZ/CLB feature on that page.

OKD, by the way, the settings on the FMC maintenance page are not stored in airline config files, but in situation files. So ignore what I said about airline configs. Config files store only variables that require screwdrivers or pin programmings, i.e. variables that cannot  be controlled by the pilots. The FMC maintenance page doesn't need a screwdriver nor pin programming. So, what you set there will be stored in situation files.

The MAINT Page can only be accessed on the ground as follows:

From the INIT/REF INDEX page - LSK6R

'MAINT>'

From the MAINTENANCE INDEX - LSK2L

'
Default Values at LSK3R are CRZ/100

CRZ - Default CRZ thrust limit set by the FMC at CRZ ALT capture.
100 - Residual RoC capability.

To change the default CRZ thrust limit from 'CRZ' to 'CLB'

On the PERF FACTRS Page - type 'ARM' in the SP.

Enter 'ARM' over the --- lines at LSK6R.

Type 'CLB/100' in the SP.

Enter CLB/100 at LSK3R.

As clear as mud.

They do, but the dog in the cockpit bites them if they touch the MAINT key.
