Hi Rushad,

your RFE_PSX.pref contains the data format of the old USB calibration system.

Your Default.pref contains the data format of the new USB calibration system because when you save USB settings in the new PSX version, the pref file will use the new data format.

It looks like you didn't re-calibrate your USB hardware after installing the new PSX version. So when the new PSX version saves USB settings, it just saves default settings, which include, in your case, reversed axes.

The new calibration system only affects axes calibration as this contains more features now. The other USB data remains unchanged. That's why your other stuff is loaded as usual.

Solution:

Recalibrate your axes, and then save them in RFE_PSX.pref for future reference.
Recalibration is required in any case, so that your Default.pref gets the new correct data, instead of using unsuitable default data (as your old data format doesn't have the new features).

P.S.: In the old data format, axis reversal was identified by a negative neutral-zone-value.
In the new data format, axis reversal is identified by the polarity of the max/min values. The old neutral-zone system is no longer in use, hence neither saved nor loaded in the new version.

Really helpful addition Hardy - thanks very much. My ACE 747 yolk was a little springy and unresponsive but I have found that -25 works for me - gives a good rotation rate and accurate pitch control.

Peter, isn't "springy" the opposite of "unresponsive"? Does the ACE have very strong springs? I would have guessed you need a positive ratio bias.

Hi Hardy,

Yes, the ACE is a little springy, but they are strong springs. A large deflection needs a large force.
I have been looking basically at three scenarios, namely rotation on take-off -  I have found that a normal 2.5 degs/sec rotation on the BA sims needs about 1/3 elevator deflection on the real status indicator, and this corresponds to about 4 or 5 inches rearwards on the top of the real control column. I think in the first instance it is important to get this right to avoid dramatic results!
Next I have a general fly about at a medium speed to test pitch response for accurate flight, and I find that a plus setting makes this too sluggish, while -25 gives me small control movements with a suitable response.
Last, I check the approach and landing - and try to get the inputs so that I can make small pitch changes of maybe a degree or so with only slight control movement.
That's so far! No doubt I will fine-tune again and again. If I change significantly from -25 I will post here.
