What is the probability of...?

Hardy,

(Here we go again with the endless requests 😂).

What is the probability of adding Kai Tak to PSX?

Bracing... ;-)

Thank you,

Mariano

Mariano

PS: I wouldn't at all mind paying for the add-on and I'm willing to volunteer helping enter coordinates and NAVAID data (in some manner) in order to take that tedious task away from you.

If you give me 18000 USD I'll think about making a feasibility study.

Mariano

Ah, that's not too bad.

I thought USD 18,000 was just barely enough to set up a committee to determine the feasibility of a feasibility study.

:-)

Mariano

The committee studying the feasibility committee needs a steering committee. And it should be started though the DMAIC process. And we need to hire a team of 6-sigma consultants from Motorola!

Yes... but you need a management consultancy to determine that!

These are important questions. We obviously need more research.

That's actually a really interesting scenario: I wonder what'd happen if you tried to land at an airport that PSX thought didn't exist using a scenery generator like X-Plane or FSX?

I suppose given the way the addons are programmed positioning and "reality" is driven out of PSX and not the scenery generator. PSX is the master to so speak and so there's never really an issue.

I suppose in another way its more realistic: There's plenty of airports that a 747 can't land at. You can see them, but you can't land there.

That case is covered by Britjet's tutorial 31 (I think) on landing PSX at Kai Tak.

Like in real life, in PSX you can land everywhere without fatal damage as long as your terrain closure rate is not fatal.

Just make sure that any committee you appoint or help has an odd number of members.  Otherwise, when votes are taken, no decision can be made! <insert friendly grins here>
