Hello Hardy,
Would it be possible to implement text 'subtitles' for ATC, as it was on PS1.3?.
It would be great for silent flights, and also to help with ATC intelligibility.

Hardy Heinlin

Hello,

unfortunately, I can't do this; it would require a lot of design work and text work, and would be beyond the scope of what PSX is made for.

Is the current ATC utterance identifiable on the network?

Hardy Heinlin

Yes :-)

Qs473="AtcTalk"; Mode=ECON; Min=6; Max=500;

Contains wav file names (numbered talk fragments) separated by semicolons.

Hi Hardy,

just playing around with this Q-Code. Now I got the following:

Qs473=40126;0014;0000;0011;0274;0270;0007;0012;0052;0230;0011;0007;

which reads "Lufthansa 401 radar contact descend and maintain 7220 QNH 1017"

But: 7220 ? ... a bit on the high side  ;)

Happens in situation "01 Departure 006 - Manzhouli - Ulaanbaatar.situ" about 33 NM inbound UDA descending thru FL270.

Btw: your Q-Code system is awesome. The more I'm playing around, the more ideas are coming into my mind, and the more I eventually can finish as desired!! Really excellent!!   :)

Best regards and have a great 2022!!
Hans

Hi,

thanks, I know that nice tool.

But as PSX sends the data, it shows the same.

Hans

Hi Hans,

7220 is the first altitude constraint on the descent path in the FMC route. Why should that be too high?

The odd feet value is because they use meters there.

Hi Hardy,

you are right! Sorry for bothering you, my fault ::)
