VisualPSX wont connect

Well I went out and flew my line, returned home, fired up the simulator and VisualPSX won't connect.  It was fine before I left.  I run MSFS X on the laptop I travel with.  Ran IP config and found that IP had changed from .8 to .10.  Read in VisualPSX manual to use static IP.  I think I have figured out how do do this, but I have a few questions:

1.  If I change the adapter to static IP, will I have to uncheck it each time I travel to use wi-fi?

2.  Can't I just edit the simconnect.CFG and XML files to the new IP?  I tried that and it doesn't work.  Am I missing a step?

Question: are you using WiFi at home, if so then you would have to change from static to DHCP each time you travel.

If you are using wired LAN connection at home you can assign a static IP address and leave your wireless adapter as DHCP (this is how I have mine setup for travel/TAFE use).

So long as you do not use your wired port during travel all will be OK...

i changed the IP in all the proper files.  What I didn't know is I had to reboot to get it all to work.  Thanks!

No worries... Windows 10 does not always need to be rebooted you can just disable and enable the interface... :)
