hi all just thought about it. i just read about  spitting your own screen  http://www.online-tech-tips.com/free-software-downloads/split-or-divide-your-desktop-screen-into-multiple-parts/

does that mean that i can have in one window xplane and in 1 window aerowinx???

cause if it would then finally we can have great scenery and a great plane all on one screen. that way i can move the camera in xplane and still have all the instruments which i want to see in the other window

That would be awsome! am i understanding this right?

What stops you from just having PSX occupy half your screen without this utility?

cause when you try that, only the screen you clicked on is working the other window is not shown (thats in the windows task bar)

I still don't get it. I currently have four windows on my screen, each taking up about 1/4th, I see all four fully, and I don't need the task bar to switch. They do not overlap or stack. They just sit side by side.

Reading the article it seems that people are raving about placing windows next to each other instead of having them all full screen all the time? I have been doing that since about 1992 on a VAX Station... it isn't exactly rocket science... and you don't need any utility for it. Windows 1.0 could do it perfectly fine.

When using Xview there is no need to have the Xplane window active , no?
Xview controls everything, weather , time , lights, and position.
I used them  together on 1 screen  started Xplane, resized the way i like it, then started PSX , resided to mi liking ,and then Xview,
When PSX is the active window you have all you need I think.
The only time you need to have Xplane active is to change views, for this you can use a second joystick or an xbox controler perhaps can also work

The clip here is with P3D , but the principal is the same.

 i will explain it.

last time i used fsx with aerowinx.   sure both are visible but if i move the instrument (aerowinx)  to for example  fmc (activly moving i dont use the shortcuts i dont like it)  and i want my forward screen back then i have to adjust the view again so that both windows fit (i have one screen on top of the window screen of aerowinx).

perhaps the best way is a picture unfortuanlly i dont have fsx Visuals anymore but i am going to buy x plane.
proberly going to need help to set it up.  when i have it i will let you know

When you want to get the last saved PSX layout setting after you have changed it with the mouse, just stay in PSX and hit the ZERO key on the numeric keyboard. The layout setting includes the PSX frame size and position on the desktop, unless you are in maximized mode.

Or don't you like keyboard actions in general?

You may want to consider a utility "Keep program X on top", if the disturbed Z-order is bugging you. The utilities you posted only do a canned re-arrange of windows. And as others said, only one (1) window can have "focus", i.e., all keystrokes go there. This is a Windows limitation (and most other OSes).

In the end, you simply want more screen real estate. Most computers can drive two monitors these days, or can be extended cheaply to drive two (even USB is fast enough to drive displays).

I can second that. If your computer can run FSX or Xplane11 these days, you must likely have a decent graphics adapter with at least two display connectors. (My "visuals" machine has a Nvidia GTX960 with *four* connectors, three of them are connected).

E.g. look at this old (from 2014) setup of mine.

The left and right PSX panels are driven by extra computers, but look at the 24'' main screens - the FSX screen on the top monitor and the PFD/ND screens (8'' x 8'' - same size as in the plane) on the lower monitor run on the same computer, powering two 24'' displays. This worked perfectly fine for me, never had any problems.
