VNAV page title when 2 E/O

Hello,

I've learned that a "2" is inserted before the "E/O" word in the LRC title when 2 E/O detected:

__ACT_E/O_LRC_CRZ___2/3_
_ACT_2_E/O_LRC_CRZ__2/3_

Is this also inserted in the non-LRC titles? A CDU line has 24 characters:

____ACT_E/O_D/D_____2/3_
___ACT_2_E/O_D/D____2/3_

____ACT_E/O_CRZ_____2/3_
___ACT_2_E/O_CRZ____2/3_

_ACT_E/O_.800M_CRZ__2/3_
ACT_2_E/O_.800M_CRZ_2/3_

This isn't mentioned in my 744 manual, but the 747-8 manual does say that if a second engine fails in CLB, it will display ACT 2 E/O CLB.

Hardy Heinlin

Does your 744 manual say anything about the CRZ title re 2 E/O?

Hardy Heinlin

In PSX 10.0.3 (last year) I made this modification:

Quote0.3-0026. VNAV CLB page title now can show E/O word only when E/O speed is above VREF+100, else it shows the VREF+100 value.

As far as I can see, E/O speed will never be above VREF+100, hence the page title will never include "E/O". I'm sceptical about this modification.

Just like the CRZ title, I think the CLB title should include "E/O" whenever E/O speed is selected. The max altitude display refers to E/O as well. The whole page should be consistent regarding the active mode.

Here's my 744 manual:

And the NCA 747-8 manual:

Not a lot of information about it.

Thank you!

At least it tells us that it reads "2E/O", not "2 E/O". I hope this is no typo :-)

That's what I initially wondered too. If it's a typo, it's in the NCA -8 manual like that too!

My Polar/Atlas 744 manual is dated 17 February 2010. There is a vertical bar alongside that paragraph, so maybe that indicates that it is something new? Maybe with the software?
