You're correct - I meant "soft" as in small font/computed. Given the aircraft is climbing with plenty of room before reaching the waypoint, it should predict crossing the waypoint at 6000 ft (in small font for CLI only). I understand it can be anything depending on flight path.

The FMC would then predict an altitude not higher than 4000 (small font) because the next hard constraint would be 4000.
