I'm curious about what was actually fine tuned.

I believe I can understand the skid in a turn of 30+ º bank on a highly swept back wing and other factors present in the 744, but of course in the real aircraft the yaw dampers neutralize it, probably by commanding "out rudder" (?).

Were the adjustments made to the yaw damper correction, or to the aerodynamic coefficients ?

Could AH trigger it too ? I mean, if I takeoff, say, at Flaps 5, and by AH I haven't reached flap retraction speed, shouldn't the amber band be shown at AH ?

Depending on certification the amber band displays the 1.2g FAA or 1.3g(EASA) manoeuvre margin. It displays with first flap retraction after take-off

from an answer I received at PPrune, also confirming the way it is now implemented in PSX.
