Gary,

Its hard to add to what so many others have already said in their very eloquent tributes.

As a permanent  'blow in' to the WorldFlight Sydney Crew at HyWay I'd hope that you will continue to call by during the events in the years to come not only to share in a few 'new' stories but to also reflect once again on what all of your hard efforts have achieved whilst also enjoying the renowned hostelry!

All the very best for your 'retirement'

Hope your retirement will give you as many joy you got from the time you helped us here.

Congratulations COMMANDER. :)

Gentlemen,

I am overwhelmed by the kindness of your words and your good wishes for the future. I realised that I have been developing software for nearly 50 years (!) so this is a good time to move on to other things.

You will be pleased to know that I future-proofed the current version of VisualPSX. It should continue to work seamlessly with P3D through versions 4 and 5, provided that Lockheed-Martin continue using the same directory naming scheme. By that time you should have an even better replacement.

Mark: I have no desire to leave you with a huge programming task. When I return home in a few weeks time I will post a message here with contact details and will then provide you with a full list of PSX and SimConnect variables and events, plus whatever code snippets are needed to easily implement the functions of VisualPSX and TrafficPSX. It won't be quite cut and paste for you, but it should simplify the task considerably.

Hardy: To you I owe the greatest thanks. Being part of the development team for PSX was both an honour and a joy. Working with you has always been a mutually professional experience and seeing you create PSX from the ground up through over 60 alpha versions, correcting even the tiniest detail on the advice of your real world 747 experts, while keeping the code efficient and those beautiful graphics super smooth was very inspiring indeed. Perhaps one day we will meet in person.

Cheers,
Garry

Hi Garry,

Thank you for all your work on VisualPSX! It is a great enhancement to an already outstanding simulator. I hope you have many happy years of retirement!

Meh, Treebeard exit stage left . . . reminds me of my own software sort of hanging out there being stupid.  Maybe I should declare it finished, too?    :o
