@Hardy: Do you have any ideas for triggers of the early des? I can run some tests here if you like?

No idea yet.

simbro

I can confirm that it's working again for me!  :)  Thanks guys!

Here also connection now, without fatal damage.
Same" issue": gearhandle down, just like Hardy.
FSX endless reloading problem persists.

I'm online, client #3.

50 nm to T/D, at FL370.

No fatal damage.

Just had to retract the gear though.

And just noticed my engines are out. I just restarted them.

Hardy Heinlin

Angus was wondering where the "wing rocking" came from, on short final. The left rudder pedal was slightly depressed and wasn't recentered. So you had to apply right aileron.

Britjet

That could be it - once it starts it is hard to stop without peripheral reference (ie a night approach).
Quite common on big sims - the best fix is to go hands-off for a second or two and then start again.

Glad the feed is back..

Peter

Markus Vitzethum

Yeah, glad the feed is back.  :D

I'm client #178 (for VisualPSX) (and two more for my PSX main + overhead panel). So I am following with my complete setup and this is really cool - with the live stream running, it feels like being on the flight deck with you.  8) Excellent work, thanks.

Markus,

Is this setup with FSX -or- P3D ?

Hessel

p.s.
Here, till my surprise for the -first- time these days, since 10 minutes a -not-constantly reloading FSX.
No idea, what's the cause of this sudden good behavior.

Still (or again?) no luck: BAW47C is currently enroute to OTHH, but PSX connected to server now shows her sitting on the ground and stationary at LGAV (but with PROGRESS page already showing destination OTHH at least...)

Martin

Perhaps there are too many server socket threads on that computer?

Hessel Oosten

Here at this moment (landing; 9.24 UTC) also frozen PSX at 39000 ft, while the connection was succesfull an working (and is still established).

Update 2115Z

On next try, connection working again, and aircraft apparently positioned correctly, but now plunging earthwards, due to all engines out.

Reconnecting* with engines already running: Now a/c shown in correct CRZ, but only passing LOTOK while BAW47C is already landing at OTHH.

Moreover, ND still shows LOTOK as next wpt. In fact, it seems the a/c, while not frozen in place, is not following the route either, but just continuing in a straight line.

Still, progress! :-)
(FAA requirement, as seen e.g. in flightradar24, to delay data by 20 min or so?? :-))

Cheers,
Martin

* psxrouter says "The server gave us ID 305." Is that a running count?

Hardy Heinlin

It looks like SwitchPSX doesn't cache the latest START mode variables (engines, altitude, TAS etc.) when the PSX server sends them to SwitchPSX.

Hessel Oosten

Hi SimFest Worldflighters,

Today (even before the crew entered the cockpit in the videostream) I get an immediate connection with PSX (no add on's, PSXSwitch or not used does the same) BUT I do get also a flight (to OTHH) which does not exist at that/this moment ! Total disagreement between PSX a dat a and the data on the videostream.. PSX starts rolling and looping etc.
The printer gives me as first information:
COMPLIANCE WITH EDNO 1
BAW47C/03 03NOV15
OLBA OTHH G-BNLL
ZFW 240.2
TOW 274.2
PAX 286
MACTOW 19.0
LITOW
FUEL IN TANKS 34.0

So..., connection not usable.
May be  this information is of help ?

Hi Hessel,

We are aware, thanks. The problem is that we need significant sim down-time to try and fix the issue (which we don't have on WorldFlight) and also Mark needs to look at this in detail, and he has other commitments at the moment. We will try, but can't promise anything, I'm afraid..sorry...

In the meantime the Twitch feed is still going strong...:-)

Hi Peter,

at least it was working last evening when I had friends visiting my house and they were impressed by your setup driving the 9 screens of my home cockpit.  :D

Hi Hessel,
I am using FSX for my visuals. The reasons is that I can run FSX on 3 screens (2 x 19'' + 24'' center screen) using a a DX9 software driver. I have not tried that with P3D yet.

Oooh, that's a good clue, that could give me an excuse to write my own router software with a feature set designed for public streaming.

I am wondering about doing an experiment where I take an average of all the control inputs received by the public IP and apply them to the sim (with the local input weighted higher for override/intervention to prevent fatal damage).

Crowd-sourcing (or democratizing) flying a 744?

Aaaargh!  :o

Ivo de Colfmaker

Hi,
I logged in last evening, got connected, and stayed connected, but after  a few seconds my plane dropped out of the sky,.
Tried it more then once, always the same.
Last year it worked  perfect, is there something more I should do or install?
Thanks
Ivo
A day at this forum is a day learned!

Hardy Heinlin

Hi Ivo,

your engines are out, probably. Click "Start engines" on the Service page.

Of course, this is just a temporary solution. There is a problem with the read-only mode on the server side since Tuesday or so.

Cheers,
