Given how Russian pilots fly, I am pretty sure they were not clutching the yoke and fixating on the Vr figure stuck to their instrument panel while the threshold came closer. They must have calculated that they would make it, and then likely just went for the full range. I agree that they seem to get bloody close to dragging their feet through something, but that is a matter of aiming...

While walking Carolina to school this morning I saw the two local swans lining up for takeoff on a 200 m runway. Apparently they use a different safety system. After 190 meters of heavy motoring they decided to abort and stopped in 5 meters. Over to you, Martin.
