P3D V2.5 crashes at VHHH

Hi Garry

I am using PSX Version 10.0.3 together with P3d Version 2.5 using
2 monitors. Virtual PSX latest version installed. NavData current.

I have created a situation file VHHH-RJGG using TopCat and PFPX having followed Brian Cowell's excellent Preflight tutorial.
The combination of PSX, P3D and VirtualPSX works at every airport I have tested except VHHH. Makes no difference if runway 07L or07R or at any holding point is selected  as soon as I start VirtualPSX to re- locate my aircraft in P3D to VHHH after initial loading via VirtualPSX P3D immediately crashes.

All aircraft etc load at VHHH in P3D without this failure.

Another problem I am experiencing is that when I select any gate
at any airport in PSX I see my aircraft in P3D in the middle of grassed area, under
airport buildings or half way into a building.

I would appreciate when time permits if you could advise what is causing these problems and maybe advance a solution.

Hi Noel,

Thanks for your comprehensive report. I am not able to test anything with P3D 2.5 so I can't investigate this problem directly. Perhaps others with that version could see if they get the same response at VHHH.

It may be that P3D version 2.5 is not fully backwards compatible with the older SimConnect.dll for FSX that the current version of VisualPSX uses. There will be updates to the VisualPSX suite soon that may or may not prevent this behaviour in P3D. I suspect that a separate version of the suite, optimised for P3D 2.5 may be required. I will look into that when I have finished the updates that I am working on now.

Cheers,
Garry

Hi Garry

Many thanks for your response. Looks like I will have to wait to see if a
new version of VirtualPSX fixes the issues.

I would also like to ask any of the 138 members who viewed this topic
if they can replicate the problems I experienced above.

Thanks in anticipation.

I will give it a try when having some spare time. I had the same kind of crash at some others airports, and I was using P3D v2.5. That's why I switched to XPX instead where ctd are very rare.

Hi Stephane,

Hopefully you will be able to switch back when a version of VisualPSX, customised for P3D v2.5 is released. That will be after the next update.

Cheers,
Garry

Hi Stephane and Garry

Stephane - many thanks for your response and offer to see if you can replicate the problem when time permits.

Garry - Looking forward to version for P3D V 2.5. Your efforts are really appreciated.

Hi,

I made a quick test yesterday.

Loading a situ file on rwy 07L VHHH ready for takeoff, P3D V2.5 is crashing before the scenery is loaded.

Loading the first situ file YSSY-KLAX rwy 16R YSSY, the scenery is loading fine in P3D but after a few minutes in flight (15-20 minutes) during the climb, P3D crashed.
