Hardy;

You mentioned you may remove the textual fragment - I assume this level of information still available via the Router?

Cheers;

Hi John,

no, this level of information won't get out of PSX. That would be overkill. I try to keep the amount of network variables low, i.e. don't want to send more than, say, 10000 variables into the network - and situation files; everything that goes into a situation file is also available via network, plus a few more as an extra service for special add-ons.

Lots of things of the electrical system do go into the network, they have to, e.g. certain latching relays or malfunctions or battery voltages and all momentary action events (unlike consequences of alternate action switches) etc. But things that are the consequence of a known variable are normally not stored as they can be reproduced in PSX through the same causal chain when the cause is known.

In the end, with all systems running, there'll be certainly 100,000 variables. Only 10% are required to calculate the other 90% to restore a situation or to run a typical add-on.

(By the way, the PSX data that Router provides can also be read from PSX directly.)

If users really want to keep that elec analysis page, I'll reconsider it. I just don't have the time to explain the details :-)

P.S.: Cockpit builders! No worries. You'll get so many variables for your switches, lights and displays that you'll be busy for the next 20 years. Or just pick the variable you need if you have a simplified mockup. Your choice. – (No hack required. All documented. And no recomputing required, i.e. external reprogramming of internal PSX code is not required. PSX networking has
nothing to do with the old PS1 networking.)

No worries - makes sense!

QuoteHow about the Galley Emergency Power Off switches (guarded) located at each galley?

I'm wondering if the cabin crew have the authority to switch off these without the flight crews' permission(?)

Apart from incoming cabin interphone calls and attendant-triggered emergency evacuation signals, PSX will shy away from cabin crew-induced problems. PSX won't model the hundreds of circuit breakers outside the cockpit, either (although it's probably possible within the framework of PSX).  : )

Cheers.

If there were to be some outside-the-cockpit modeling, these galley switches might be worth consideration, because they do trigger EICAS messages inside the cockpit.  But in the scheme of things, it's minor.

What does the bits for the buses represent?

Thanks because when I failed the bus the network sent an event. Cheers

Is there a Q code for a bus Powered/Unpowered?

Can you post your question in the Networkers subforum? Also, please tell what purpose you need this for.
