Which 747

I have not visited this forum in a long time. I am very happy to here there will be a PSX someday. Has Hardy announced which 747 he is modeling? Will it be the -400 (no longer in production) or the -800?

It will be the good old -400; many variants, though. Check out the screen shots scattered around in Hangar 7 posts. Do so at your own risk. Once you've seen them, you will suffer tremendously like most of us have been doing for many months now. So far, there is no known cure for PSX Salivating Syndrome. It is a immensely joyful mental state, though.

Yes, that was me. Was that almost 12 years ago already? I am so happy to hear that you are working on a new version of your great simulator.  I will be following your progress here on the forum and I'm looking forward to purchasing a copy as soon as it's available.

Our only 'fix' are screen shots until PSX is out. I saved them all and look at them at least once a day.

This is a product extension for the 747-400X and that provides you with High Fidelity visual models and updated cockpit locations and sound package so that you can add the 747-8i/F to your existing 747 flight experience within FSX. (Taxiing this airplane is a CHALLENGE because of the extra length!) The underlying aircraft performance is identical to the 747-400X as this is just a 3D model addition"
That's good news: PMDG keeps just scratching the surface, while PSx goes deeply inside the aircraft's systems simulation!

I had read and am aware of the features and limitations, and therefore named it as PMDG did- simulation extension. I am not comparing their work to Hardy's, but rather informing B747 fans of developments in their area of interest.

Following that company development, one could see an adopted development package concept.  This allows them for instance, to apply portions of development work done on their B737NGX for future use in B777, B747-8 and B787. Could conceiveably be used for quality step-up for their B747-8,  similarly from BAE JetStream 4100 to Bombardier Dash-8. It presents an opportunity for higher simulation quality at reduced effort.
