Visual PSX and Squawkbox

Hello Garry,

I have a problem of synchronization between PSX and Squawkbox using VisualPSX / Traffic PSX. The Squawkbox COM frequency is not updated when I change the frequency within PSX. Same about squawk code and mode. I also do not have the PTT function (PSX PTT activates Squawkbox PTT).

I have to restart TrafficPSX many times to get the frequencies updating and PTT working fine. Sometimes, after about 10 restarts, never working. Some lucky days, everything works fine from the first time. No changes to anything between these days. My simulator is very complex and I always follow the same procedure and start sequence. Very strange problem. I tried to run different versions of VisualPSX, TrafficPSX, change to vpilot, always the same problem.

Hi Jean-Philippe,

This and the other problem you reported suggest to me that there could be a faulty LAN connection in your network causing unreliable data transfer, perhaps a failing ethernet port or corrupt firmware in your router.

I had a situation recently where I added a hard drive to one of my computers, a routine task. Some time later the computer started shutting down after random periods. After I spent some time investigating, the solution turned out to be resetting the CMOS memory to factory settings then restoring my specific settings. I don't know how it became corrupted, but it did.

As no one else is reporting similar problems to yours I have to assume that my software is ok and the cause lies elsewhere. I hope it turns out to be something simple to fix.
